What’s included in my rental agreement?
We strive to offer our residents a full range of services so that you can enjoy a relaxing retirement. That’s why the rental agreements for all our units for independent and semi-independent retirees include electricity and heating, air conditioning, cable, telephone and Wi-Fi services, housekeeping services once every two weeks, access to entertainment and activities organized by our recreationist, a private balcony, washer-dyer and dishwasher hook-ups (in some units), Venetian blinds, and more! What kind of units are available? (Studio, 2 1/2, 3 1/2, 4 1/4, 5 1/2)
To cater to all tastes and price ranges, the O’ St-François complex has studio apartments (1 1/2), one-bed apartments (2 1/2 and 3 1/2), two-bed apartments (4 1/2), and two-bed apartments with an office space (5 1/2). Check the “Plan” section of our website to see the architectural plans of the various units available, and contact your leasing advisor!
Will I be completely free in your complex? Can I do what I want when I want?
Absolutely. Our complex is your home! You have the same freedom you would have in your own home. You can move around whenever you want, and you choose whether you want to participate in the activities on offer. However, for security reasons, we would appreciate that you let us know if you are going to be absent for an extended period of time.
What can I expect security-wise? Do you monitor the complex 24 hours a day?
Our complexes are equipped with top of the line security systems. Main entrances are controlled by our staff through security cameras that monitor the building 24 hours a day. The building is also equipped with a central fire alarm system and emergency lighting system. Even your apartment is completely safe! Each unit is equipped with an emergency call system that’s directly linked to staff who are ready to respond immediately, day or night. The building is also equipped with security devices as required by the law, such as sprinklers and smoke detectors, and, in the event of a power cut, an emergency generator. Your peace of mind is our main concern. We guarantee you’ll get a good night’s sleep in our complex!
Would I have access to on-site nurses if needed?
Yes. It’s easy to access nursing care within our complexes as we ensure healthcare professionals are on-site day and night. You’ll have permanent access to qualified care staff who can provide first aid if required. Residents requiring temporary care services, such as bandage changes, blood pressure monitoring, eye drop application, etc. have a nurse at their disposal.
Are the menus offered in the dining room varied?
Of course! Meals are prepared by professional cooks that develop varied dishes based on Canada’s Food Guide. You can choose from the premade meals or the à la carte menu. Our meals are based on fresh, seasonal produce and products available on the market. Your meals will always be made up of high-quality ingredients that are good for your health, varied, and delicious!
Are there amenities located nearby?
The O’ St-François complex is located close to most essential services, including pharmacies, grocery stores, financial institutions, parks, bicycle paths, main roads (Rue Principale and Autoroute 20), a golf course, and much more. Furthermore, the recreationist manages a free shuttle service that can take you to other amenities every week.
Which services are provided at O’ St-François?
Our residents have access to wide-ranging services, including a hair salon, pharmacy counter, convenience store, indoor and outdoor parking, elevators, storage areas, 24-hour care staff, meditation areas, dining room, café, and more… All under one roof!
What activities does your complex offer?
The O’ St-François complex offers a full range of activities to its residents: swimming pool and aquafit classes, bowling, shuffleboard, pétanque, movie theatre, carpentry workshop, crafts workshop, community garden, library, and special activities organized by the complex. A recreationist works with the residents’ committee to organize several activities such as specialized conferences, bingo, quizzes, dancing, and short excursions. There are many other activities on offer, and we always appreciate new suggestions! Do you like shopping or need to run errands? Our shuttle service can take you to shopping centres. Rest assured: you’ll never be bored in our complex!
Can my family visit?
Of course! Not only can your family or anyone else visit you in your apartment, but we also have a VIP suite (hotel room) that you can rent for your family, as well as meeting and function rooms.
Will I be eligible for tax credits for support services? How does it work?
If you’re aged 70 or over, you are eligible for tax credits for support services. This tax credit is based on your income.
